Driving up the highway, glancing out the window, and seeing a long train of flatbeds carrying military vehicles can be the stuff alarm bells are made of. It is just not something seen every day or even thought about very often. We are not a nation overtly at war. Most of us go about our day giving little thought beyond media mentions regarding what our military is up to.
Thus, seeing train loads of military equipment, sets many questions swirling in the brain. Where are they going, comes to mind, followed by why are they moving by train? Where are the troops? Are these new vehicles? So many questions and absolutely no answers.
Truth is, unless we have friends, family or are personally involved in the military, we just don’t have any idea what goes on with the military on a daily basis.
It would also be ludicrous to think you could google information and find out about significant military activity or significant troop movements. The expressions, ‘need to know basis ’ along with ‘you don’t need to know’ come to mind.
One can find several articles dating from 2011 through the present, however, which make the assertion there are unusual troop movements afoot. Apparently, U.S. citizens become alarmed by seeing long flatbed trains of military vehicles rolling along. Naturally, they feel others should know about their observation and be alarmed with them.
A quote from The Army Times states, “The Army regularly moves equipment by rail, including when its units are heading to combat training center rotations at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California and the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, Louisiana. Rail is one of the most efficient ways to move heavy equipment over long distances.”
Maybe the next time a train loaded with military vehicles is spotted going someplace for some reason unknown, we should think good thoughts. There go your tax dollars at work, the military is just doing its job.
Note: In investigating for corroborating articles and footage regarding US equipment and troop movement, it has been difficult finding dates on claims and videos. Only dated articles have been used as reference material for this article.
