“Yes. Gold shall destroy the FED.” When everyone read this post three years ago, we all racked our brains to try and to understand how Gold could kill the FED? It has been three years since the Q post 2619 and we are now in a time where this information is more relevant, a time where we are seeing higher and higher inflation. For those that are studying the precious metals markets, it is easy to find information explaining the historical significance of precious metals relative to our current financial markets. For millennia, monetary precious metals have been a storage of wealth that have proven their value in weight. So, what form of Gold would have the ability to sidestep centralized banking?

A follow up post on July 9th, 2019, post 3393 linked to a CBS News article about Judy Shelton… In 2019, Judy Shelton was proposed by Trump to be added to the Federal Reserve Board and it was well known that Shelton supports a return to a gold standard.

“As President Donald Trump named his picks to fill two influential seats on the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors, the price of gold surged. That may be because one of the them, Judy Shelton, is a believer in the return to the gold standard, a money policy abandoned by the U.S. in 1971.”

“Shelton argues it would mark a return to stability and hamper other governments from currency manipulation. In a Wall Street Journal opinion piece, she wrote “the classical gold standard established an international benchmark for currency values, consistent with free-trade principles.”

A return to sound money poses one question, how we transact in gold for normal day to day life?

A gold-based currency already exists called Goldbacks and they are quickly becoming a recognizable standard of a gold-based currency. Utah, New Hampshire and Nevada use Goldbacks already within their states and Wyoming and South Dakota are on their way.

Goldbacks may become the means in which everyday people transact within gold in the economy.

As 2021 is coming to an end and 2022 begins, stackers can look forward to the final implementation of Basel 3 and we can all speculate on the effects it will have on the financial world. There was quite a buzz in the precious metals community in early 2021 when a last minute exception was granted to the UK and the LBMA…

Andrew Lane at Investing.com writes about what the upcoming Basel III implementation means for gold and silver prices…

“On June 28, Europe (Excluding the UK), the USA, and the Comex became Basel III NSFR compliant. The UK and the LBMA, who have fought this for nearly a decade, were given a further six-month extension until Jan. 1, 2022, to be NSFR compliant.”

Once the total amount of gold and silver derivatives are exposed, we could see a revaluation of gold and silver overnight.

“Jeff Christian’s testimony at a CFTC hearing admitted that for every one oz of physical gold, there are 100 paper derivatives. silver is said to be three times as bad. This means that significant players in precious metals trading have had huge, short positions on the metals as they drive the price down to accumulate physical at cheaper price levels.”

Andrew goes on to explain how central banks are preparing by buying tier 1 assets now.

“The world’s central banks buying at these prices is in preparation for the only tier 1 asset on their balance sheets that, unlike fiat currency, will not be intentionally debased by governments with their loose monetary policy we have seen now for years.”

Does the implementation of Basel 3 make Goldbacks, also known as Aurum, a viable option to replace fiat paper debt notes? Goldbacks are made from pure gold, are they now considered a tier 1 asset as well?
