A majority of voters surveyed in six “key” swing states in the US support congressional action to block US bomb shipments to Israel, according to a YouGov poll for the IMEU Policy Project released on 21 October.

The poll of more than 3,200 voters covered Georgia, Iowa, Maine, North Carolina, Ohio, and Texas, whose contests are expected to determine control of the Senate in the November midterms.

Support for blocking the bomb transfers started at 51 percent in North Carolina and reached 65 percent in Maine, while opposition stayed at or below 31 percent across all six states.

Voters in every state also backed cutting $3.3 billion in US taxpayer-funded weapons transfers to Israel by wide margins, from 22 points in Georgia and Ohio to 40 points in Maine.

Respondents across all six states further said Trump’s illegal war on Iran serves Israel’s interests more than those of the US.

IMEU Policy Project executive director Margaret DeReus said ending arms transfers to Israel has become close to a consensus position among Democrats.

She added that independents and a significant share of Republicans are growing weary of sending US tax money to Israel for endless wars while their own citizens bear the cost of military adventurism in West Asia.

“These results are strong evidence that the endless giveaways to Israel will be a liability this November – and in 2028,” she said.

“Politicians who prioritize winning over catering to the fringe demands from AIPAC should take note,” DeReus added.

The findings came two days after a Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll put Trump’s approval rating at a record low of 33 percent, with Democrats holding an eight-point lead and 65 percent of respondents calling the US-Israeli war on Iran a mistake.

Election data firm Decision Desk HQ gives Democrats a 56 percent chance of taking the Senate, while a growing number of Republicans blame Trump’s handling of Iran, gas prices, and tariffs for their likely losses.

A Change Research poll for veteran-led group Common Defense, conducted between 15 and 28 September, found 49 percent of active-duty troops, military families, and veterans opposed to the war on Iran, with service members rejecting it by 16 points.

A majority of those surveyed also opposed deploying US forces to back Israel’s military aggression on Gaza and Lebanon, with military families rejecting it by 38 points and service members by 16.
