Amidst the speculation surrounding former President Trump’s potential indictment, Senator Rand Paul has called for the arrest of New York Attorney General Alvin Bragg, who is leading the indictment proceedings.
“A Trump indictment would be a disgusting abuse of power. The DA should be put in jail,” the Republican tweeted.
Paul joins the voices of many who have slammed the indictment as a witch hunt and nothing more than a political ploy to smear Trump’s 2024 campaign. However, many believe that if Trump is to be arrested, it will only garner more support for his cause, as seen in the latest polls.
Paul, a Republican from Kentucky, has been a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump. Paul has also defended Trump against his critics, including during the impeachment proceedings in 2019 and 2021.
