US Catholic Bishops may have to ask Biden to stop taking Communion


United States Catholic Bishops will discuss asking President Joe Biden to stop taking Communion over his views on abortion, according to reports. The Committee on Doctrine has reportedly written a document that would make it a policy to recommend that public figures that promote abortion not receive Communion. In order for the policy to go into effect, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops would have to vote to approve it, the Associated Press notes.

Biden is the second Catholic U.S. President, but the first to be pro-choice. However, the Catholic Church, considers abortion a moral issue. The UCCB has not released any part of the document on the issue, and likely won’t until after they meet in June.
