A study just released in Germany has revealed serious complication from the COVID vaccine is 40 times higher than previously reported.
The study had around 40.000 participants and is being carried out at the Charité in Berlin. Professor Harald Matthes is leading the study and is calling for more contact points for those affected, according to a report in Germany’s MDR.de
“The number of serious complications after vaccinations against Sars-CoV-2 is 40 times higher than previously recorded by the Paul Ehrlich Institute (PEI). This is one of the results of a long-term observational study by the Berlin Charité. Study director Professor Harald Matthes is now calling for more contact points for those affected”.
The study, labeled “Safety Profile of Covid-19 Vaccines” (ImpfSurv), focuses on the effects and side effects of the various vaccines and has been on-going for a year now.
Participation in the study is voluntary and includes around 40,000 vaccinated individuals throughout Germany who are interviewed at set, periodic intervals.
Prof. Dr. Harald Matthes reports eight out of 1,000 vaccinated people struggle with serious side effects. “The number is not surprising,” explains Prof. Dr. Harald Matthes, head of the study: “It corresponds to what is known from other countries such as Sweden, Israel or Canada. Incidentally, even the manufacturers of the vaccines had already determined similar values in their studies.” With conventional vaccines, such as against polio or measles, the number of serious side effects is significantly lower”.
A study, titled, “Corona vaccination and the heart: new studies on myocarditis”, specifically discusses carditis, or the inflammations of the heart. This is one of the more often discussed side effects that can occur in rare cases after a Covid 19 vaccination. Two new studies from the US and Hong Kong report this side effect occurs mainly in young males after the second dose of the vaccine. The study reports the complication is rare and not fatal in any of the cases studies.
The report continues by citing the German Heart Foundation reporting “the frequency of vaccination-related myocarditis or pericarditis caused by an mRNA vaccination is on average one to ten cases per 100.000 vaccinations. The conclusion is, therefore, the complication of heart inflammation as a result of vaccination is rare. It does not occur more frequently than in the unvaccinated.
The safety report of the Paul Ehrlich Institute from December 2021 shows – “1,554 suspected cases of myocarditis or pericarditis were reported in a total of more than 107 million vaccine doses of Comirnaty/BioNTech and Spikevax/Moderna. The rate of suspected cases in young men 18-29 years of age for the Comirnaty/BioNTech vaccine after the second vaccination is almost nine cases per 100,000. In women the same age there are 1.5 cases. The rate for the Spikevax/Moderna vaccine after the second dose is 25 suspected cases per 100,000 in young men and in women there are almost six. This rate decreases with increasing age of the vaccinated persons”.
An important point is made in the German report. A suspected case is not the same as a confirmed case. The only vaccine injury reviewed in this particular study was heart inflammation.
“The exact frequency of myocarditis/pericarditis after an mRNA vaccination can still not be determined with certainty, as epidemiological (population-related) studies are still missing. But there are now a number of studies that have evaluated the clinical cases, i.e., not just the reported suspected cases. Overall, it can be stated that the heart inflammation was mild in 95 percent of the cases and usually only a short stay in hospital was necessary”.
Research concluded the absolute risk of carditis from vaccination is low. However, the results should be considered when establishing the risk and benefit of mRNA vaccines compared to the risk of serious complications from COVID infection.
It should be noted, according to the CDC Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR), published September 3,2021, in an article entitled,’ Association Between COVID-19 and Myocarditis Using Hospital-Based Administrative Data — United States, March 2020–January 2021’, Viral infections are a common cause of myocarditis. Some studies have indicated an association between COVID-19 and myocarditis.
“During March 2020–January 2021, patients with COVID-19 had nearly 16 times the risk for myocarditis compared with patients who did not have COVID-19, and risk varied by sex and age”. (MMWR)
A report published in NIH National Library of Medicine by Mende; E. Singer, Ira B Taub, and David C Kaelber concludes: “Myocarditis (or pericarditis or myopericarditis) from primary COVID19 infection occurred at a rate as high as 450 per million in young males. Young males infected with the virus are up 6 times more likely to develop myocarditis as those who have received the vaccine”.
While there may be a multitude of reasons not to take an mRNA vaccine, it would appear from the data presented, the possibility of complication of myocarditis or pericarditis might be outweighed by the possible occurrence of heart inflammation from an actual Covid infection, according to these two reports.
All this assumes the mRNA vaccine is actually effective against COVID infection.
