Remembering all the people that were hurt or lost their lives in the Las Vegas Shooting.

In the end, 58 people were killed, including four Canadians, and an additional 869 people were injured.

A majority of cell phone users will receive an alert on Wednesday, October 3, with the header “Presidential Alert” and the message, “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.” The alert was initially scheduled to occur Thursday, September 20, but FEMA spokesman Mark Peterson tells CNN the test has been postponed, and October 3 was the alternate date for the test. https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/15/politics/fema-presidential-alert-trump-emergency-test/index.html

Changes made to the United States Attorney’s Manuel:

Some specific changes include expanding the Principles of Federal Prosecution to incorporate current charging and sentencing policies and adding new policies on religious liberty litigationthird-party settlement payments, and disclosure of foreign influence operations.

National Security:

When national security issues arise during a criminal prosecution, they must be resolved through careful coordination by the Department of Justice with high-level officials from the intelligence, military, and foreign affairs communities. In addition, the Attorney General or the Attorney General’s designee has the certain statutory authority and those obligations may be properly exercised and that only with appropriate coordination within the Department by the respective United States Attorneys’ Office (USAOs).
