Last week a story circulated on various media outlets which stated PayPal would be initiating a policy beginning November 3,2022 which would fine users $2500 for the spread of “misinformation”. Apparently, administration at PayPal would determine who was violating their terms of use and would subsequently remove funds from any account which were deemed to be in violation of those terms.
This did not set well with many PayPal users and enough of them cancelled their accounts causing PayPal to announce a retraction of the policy.
An article by USAA News reports this retraction of policy is pretty much” a lie”.
“The “Restricted Activities and Holds” policy makes clear that “Actions We May Take if You Engage in Any Restricted Activities” are determined based on PayPal making the decision “in our sole discretion,” if PayPal “believe[s] that you’ve engaged in any of these activities.”
So if PayPal “in [its] sole discretion” concludes that you’re using PayPal “for activities that … relate to transactions involving … promotion of” “discriminatory” “intolerance”—presumably including distributing publications, or for that matter buying publications (since that’s an activity related to transactions involving the promotion of certain views)—it can just take $2500 straight from your account.”
So, while PayPal may have appeared to pull back from their scheduled November 3 initiative, they have not. Undoubtedly, the closing of accounts by users has had enough of an impact to at least force the organization to do a bit of damage control.
Perhaps PayPal believed they were the only game in town only to realize people have an alternative with GabPay.
Social media outlet Gab had announced its launch of GabPay back on December 13, 2021. Opened as an alternative to “Woke-Left” credit card payment processors in an effort to cement the “Parallel Economy”, the outlet declared, ““Today marks a great day as we can process credit cards for Canada, Europe, Panama, and of course the US,” the platform announced.
“If you accept credit cards as a payment method, who does your processing? Does a Woke-Left side processor handle your credit card payments? It’s time to join [Andrew Torba] and the #ParallelEconomy and hop on GabPay for your credit card services.”
A 10/05/2022 article in World Wide Wire states, “GabPay enables peer-to-peer payment processing. Gab has created a custom option for users to make transactions online, similar to other famous payment processors. Several features will be added to the basic options in the coming days. At Gab, they are making great strides on GabPay, an alternative to Paypal, as one of their many initiatives in the fight against the tyranny of the global elite.
They are going through many legal and regulatory hurdles, but things are moving fast. Creating your own PayPal is not as easy as “create and send software.” The software side for GabPay is already ready and works great. It’s the bureaucracy that takes time.”
Gab’s founder says they’re pleased that Gab has been banned from PayPal for years because it protects all of their customers from the prying eyes of the demons in the ADL. As always, God had a plan, and the ban only led them to build GabPay.
