Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on 4 June formally rejected allegations that its drones struck the passenger terminal at Kuwait International Airport early on Wednesday, calling the alleged visual evidence “a crude fabrication created by the enemy.”
Military officials noted a significant timing discrepancy, telling Tasnim News Agency that while the IRGC launched its drones toward US targets at midnight and recorded impacts under the cover of darkness, the alleged footage of the airport strike was recorded during the day.

The IRGC further maintained that a targeting error was nearly impossible because their intended objectives were located more than 40 kilometers from the international airport.
A military source speaking to Fars News Agency characterized the claims as part of a “psychological operation” and a “false narrative campaign” intended to mislead the public.

According to IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi, internal reviews confirmed that no missiles were launched toward the civilian terminal, instead attributing the damage to a US-made Patriot air defense missile that fell onto the building after failing to intercept incoming Iranian fire.

The IRGC identified its actual intended target as the Ali al-Salem Air Base, a facility that houses US military helicopters.
The Iranian retaliatory strikes follow overnight attacks by the US military, which targeted an Iranian oil tanker and a communications tower on Qeshm Island.
Washington’s attacks prompted the IRGC to strike US assets in Bahrain and Kuwait, including the Fifth Fleet and Ali al-Salem Air Base.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that “The rulers of Kuwait and Bahrain bear direct responsibility for the aggressive actions of the US last night. The Islamic Republic of Iran, in exercising its inherent right to defend the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of Iran, will use all capacities to counter aggressive actions, including by targeting the origin and source of the aggressive attacks.”
